Perpetual Becoming
Paying Attention to the ProcessMy View
The header photo for this blog is the view from the rooftop of my building. I love this view – it is, quite literally, my view of the world. It represents my community, the place my wife and I call home, and the people I interact with. It is also an apt metaphor for the ethos of Perpetual Becoming.
All of us have something to offer; and that something will without a doubt reflect our own view of the world. This is such a valuable contribution – it is what makes the world go round. Our view is never enough on its own, and it certainly is not the only view of the world.
Look closer at this picture. They are small, but if you look closely you will also see two other people on a nearby rooftop. This was a happy accident – but its where I believe the metaphor contains real power. Gazing at this picture I see many of the things I gravitate towards and resonate with as I formulate my view(s) – but I am also gently reminded that as I make sense of the world I am not alone and neither are you. I’m reminded to check the next rooftop, to see what the view from there looks like, and what it teaches me about my own.
